U.S. President George W. Bush strongly condemned Wednesday's bombings of the Golden Mosque in Iraq's Samara and said the world must be united against the enemies of "all faiths and all humanity."

"I extend my deepest condolences to the people of Iraq for the brutal bombing of the Golden Mosque in Samara, one of the holiest sites in Shi'a Islam," Bush said in a statement.

"The terrorists in Iraq have again proven that they are enemies of all faiths and of all humanity. The world must stand united against them, and steadfast behind the people of Iraq," Bush said.

"The United States condemns this cowardly act in the strongest possible terms," Bush said.

Bush also vowed that the United States stands ready to do all in its power to identify and bring to justice those responsible for the crime.

The Golden Mosque, located some 95 kilometers north of Baghdad, is among Iraq's most sacred sites for Shiite Muslims, drawing pilgrims from around the Islamic world to visit.
