The Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC) held a lecture Tuesday on building a new socialist countryside.

Wu Bangguo, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, presided over the lecture.

Chen Xiwen, deputy director of the Office of Central Financial Work Leading Group, gave the lecture, dwelling on the goals, tasks and principles as well as basic ways for building the new countryside.
