The United States said on Wednesday that there is no indication that Iran has agreed to Russia's proposal to have Iran's uranium enriched in Russia.
"So far, there's no indication, frankly, that the terms of the Russian proposal have been agreed to by Iran," US State Department deputy spokesman Adam Ereli said at a regular news briefing.
Ereli also reiterated American support for Russia's proposal, noting "It's in the context of the broader EU-3 diplomacy."
The EU-3, namely Britain, France and Germany, have been a broker of the Iranian nuclear issue for more than two years. It has expressed willingness to accept the Russian proposal.
Iran said on Sunday that it has reached a preliminary agreement with Russia on a Russian proposal of a joint uranium-enrichment venture and the two countries would continue talks in the coming days.
