Bangladesh to import 100,000 tons of urea fertilizerThe Bangladeshi government will import 100,000 tons of urea fertilizer to meet the country's growing demand, local newspaper The Independent reported Friday. A meeting of the Cabinet Purchase Committee, presided by Finance Minister Saifur Rahman Thursday approved a proposal in this regard. As per the proposal placed by Ministry of Industries, the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) will procure the fertilizer in two consignments through international tender.
