font size

The CPVCC has received over 1,400 letters from Vietnamese individuals residing in Vietnam and abroad and 76 documents from local organizations since it publicized its draft political report of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), which focus on party construction, anti- corruption and state apparatus, local media reported Monday.

Between 75 percent and 80 percent of the comments and recommendations center on party construction; 70-75 percent on anti-corruption and wastefulness; 35-40 percent on the issues of state apparatus, democracy and national unity; and 20-25 percent on education, People's Army newspaper said.

Approximately 95 percent of the responses basically agreed with the draft report, while some others said it failed to highlight key issues, and some certain measures were still unclear. The draft political report will be submitted to the upcoming 10th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam

Between 70 percent and 75 percent of the letters were sent by pensioners and war veterans, and 20-25 percent by intellectuals, the newspaper said.

The congress's theme is "Enhancing the Party's leadership capacity and combat power, bringing the strength of the whole nation into play, comprehensively accelerating the renewal process, and quickly bringing our country out of the underdeveloped status. "
