First passenger car diesel engine with Chinese IPR developed
font size

Yuchai Group, the largest manufacture of diesel engine in China showcased YC4W, the first passenger car diesel engine with own IPR on Feb. 26, filling in the gap in such field.

The YC4W diesel engine that targets light passenger car market has met the European III emission standard. It will entirely rewrite the history that light diesel passenger cars in China are dependent on imported diesel engines.

Official with Yuchai Group noted that the technologies of diesel engine and hybrid-power, the diesel hybrid power in particular, are the most efficient method so far to reduced vehicles' energy consumption. Diesel will be the most matured, less risky alternative fuel to oil in the 20 to 30 years to come.
