Taiwan has $31.9 bln surplus in cross-Straits trade last year

The total trade volume between Taiwan and the Chinese mainland (excluding Hong Kong SAR) reached 71.7 billion US dollars last year, according to latest statistics released by a Taiwan economic authority.

The statistics show Taiwan's exports to the mainland stood at 51.8 billion US dollars and imports 19.9 billion US dollars last year. Taiwan enjoyed a trade surplus of 31.9 billion US dollars with the mainland, up 3.5 billion US dollars over last year.
