Mozambique and India have signed a military cooperation accord, under which New Delhi will provide training and equipment to all three branches of Mozambican Armed Forces, according to reports reaching here from Mozambique's capital Maputo Wednesday.

Mozambican Defense Minister Tobias Dai signed the agreement with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee during his official visit to India.

They jointly issued a communiqu, under which India will assist Maputo's efforts to modernize its army by supplying equipment, know-how in maintenance of vehicles, boats and planes and will also help Mozambique improve the capacities of its coast guard service.
