Angola sets up bird flu preventing commissionA commission with the task of preventing the spread of bird flu has been set up in Angola. Angola's acting president, Parliament Speaker Roberto Victor de Almeida, ordered Tuesday here the setting up of the commission to take measures to prevent the bird flu, as there are fears of the spread of the disease throughout the continent, after the presence of the H5NI virus was confirmed in some African countries. The measures include surveillance and birds check-up, routine test, control of origin and trade of imported birds, and awareness campaigns on the matter with the population. Coordinated by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gilberto Buta Lutukuta, the commission includes representatives of the ministries of Health, National Defense Health Division, Interior, Finance, Territory Administration, Transport, Social Communication, Commerce, Urbanization and Environment, aided by a team comprising technicians from the referred sectors.
