Sami Abu Zuhri, spokesman of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said on Thursday that the movement is ready to form its own cabinet, if dialogue with other parliamentary parties on forming a coalition cabinet fails.
"If it was impossible for the parties to join a Hamas-led cabinet then we would form the cabinet that will include only Hamas ministers, technocrats and those minor parties who are willing to join," Abu Zuhri told reporter in Gaza.
He, however, admitted that it would be a non-easy task for Hamas if the parties refused to join Hamas-led cabinet in this stage.
The spokesman, meanwhile, disclosed that his movement would present its amended final government political platform to leaders of other parliamentary parties at a meeting held later on Thursday.
"Today we would hand them the final formula of Hamas government 's program and we will meet with them to know their final responses," Abu Zuhri said.
The platform to be presented on Thursday is the latest edition after Wednesday's meeting, during which Hamas listened to the opinions of all parties in the Palestinian Legislative Council ( PLC) on the finial platform.
But the amended platform might be still hard to cater every PLC party, he said, adding "Hamas has changed a lot in its policy as to be close to the other blocs' policies, but this didn't get any approval from those blocs."
He noted that "we were surprised that some parties (in reference to Fatah) are insisting to compel Hamas to change its entire political platform in favor of other programs as well as recognizing previous agreements."
"These agreements are including a clear recognition of the state of occupation (Israel) which is an issue that we totally reject," he added.
The PLC parties ended another round of dialogue with Hamas held at Hamas top leader Mahmoud Al-Zaharon's house in Gaza on Wednesday night, without reaching any results.
Hamas spokesman in the PLC Salah al-Bardawil said after Wednesday's meeting that the notes in this round of dialogue would be submitted to Hamas leadership, vowing to continue the consultations with other PLC parties.
"We will present to them (PLC parties) our final draft and we will commit ourselves to this," al-Bardawil asserted.
