Indonesia's motorcycle production rose by 27.3 percent to 340,605 units in February against 267,641 units a month earlier, a local newspaper reported Friday.
The increase signals a return to the robust performance of the industry after production fell to its lowest in one year in January, said Bisnis Indonesia.
Monthly production never fell below 300,000 units in 2005.
Honda was the largest producer in February with 169,250 units, trailed by Yamaha with 129,605 units. Suzuki was in a distant third with 35,704 units.
PT Indomobil Suzuki International, the local unit of Japan's Suzuki Motorcycles, said production fell by 17.1 percent last month due to sluggish demand for its moped type.
"We keep struggling to grab bigger market share by, among other things, launching a new model in the near future," Suzuki marketing department head Suandi Widiarto told the newspaper.
