An Iraqi civilian was killed and another wounded when a roadside bomb went off on a highway in eastern Baghdad on Saturday, an interior Ministry source told Xinhua.
"A roadside bomb detonated on the highway near the Technology University, killing a civilian and wounding another," the source said on condition of anonymity.
The target of the attack which damaged civilian cars was not clear as there were no U.S. troops or Iraqi security forces nearby, he said.
In a separate attack, two civilians were wounded when a car bomb went off in central Baghdad on Saturday, a police source said.
"A booby trapped car parking near the Masbah intersection detonated at around 11:00 a.m. (0800 GMT)," Captain Ahmed Abdullah told Xinhua.
Earlier, a roadside bomb struck a U.S. military vehicle in the restive city of Fallujah, some 50 km west of Baghdad, a local police source told Xinhua.
"A roadside bomb went off near a U.S. patrol at about 7:00 a.m. (0400 GMT) in central Fallujah, badly damaging a Humvee, causing undetermined number of casualties among the U.S. soldiers aboard," the source said on condition of anonymity.
The U.S. troops cordoned off the area for more than an hour preventing people from approaching the scene, he said.
Separately, insurgents pounded a U.S. military base in western Ramadi, some 110 km west of Baghdad, with five mortar rounds at about 5:00 a.m. (0200 GMT), local residents told Xinhua.
Five explosions were heard and sirens wailed inside the base, they said.
The U.S. military did not confirm the two incidents.
