Hamas prime minister-designate Ismail Haneya is scheduled to meet with Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas at 9:00 p.m. local time (1900 GMT) in Gaza City to present his cabinet's political program and the list of ministers.
Hamas' efforts to form a national unity government failed four weeks after Haneya was tasked with cabinet making.
All other parties in the parliament including the former ruling Fatah movement refused to join the Hamas-led cabinet because Hamas rebuffed their demands to abide by existing agreements with Israel and recognize the Palestine Liberation Organization, headed by Abbas, as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.
According to a draft list of ministers published by several local news websites, the cabinet is made up of Hamas members as well as independents and technocrats.
All key posts are held by Hamas, including foreign, interior and finance ministers.
Mahmoud al-Zahar, head of Hamas in the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) will be Foreign Minister. Saeed Seyam, Hamas PLC member, will be Minister of Interior and Omer Abdel Razeq, Hamas PLC member, will be Minister of Finance.
