A strange disease has killed ten people in Tcholindi village in central Huambo province of Angola since mid-February, Angolan official news agency Angop reported on Monday.
Antnio Epalanga, Tcholindi's chief, was quoted as saying he does not know the origin of the disease that attacks the legs before expanding to the intestines, killing the patient within less than a week.
He expressed concern about the situation as the type and origin of the disease remain unidentified, making it difficult to find any effective medicines.
Public health specialists are expected to visit the region in the coming days to study the disease, according to the report.
