An Ecuador soccer official has been jailed on charge of human trafficking, police said on Monday.
Police arrested Vinicio Luna, coordinator of the Ecuador national soccer team, along with two others, following an order issued by the Ninth Judge of the Pichinchi Court.

According to early reports, Quito's U.S. consulate had received a request for a visa from Luna, for three citizens who were, according to him, players and trainers. But, after investigating his claims, they called in the police and accused him of human trafficking.
Luna had been due to travel to Japan, as part of Ecuador's national team for a friendly with Japan.
