There will be big clashes in this week's Libertadores Cup as the best teams in four of the eight groups battle for top finishes.
Mexico's Chivas, recording a win and a draw, will host group one rivals Brazil's Sao Paolo, the defending champions, in the western Mexico city of Guadalajara on Tuesday.
Chivas, the most popular team in local league and reputed with tough defense, won a Mexican derby over Cruz Azul 1-0 this weekend as coach Jose Manuel de la Torre took in charge for the first match.
So far, Sao Paolo has scored decisive victories in the Libertadores Cup, beating Venezuela's Caracas 2-1 and pummeling Peru's Cienciano 4-1 at home.
In Group Four, Chile's Universidad Catolica, also holding four points after a 3-2 victory over Mexico's Tigres and a 2-2 draw with Brazil's Corinthians, will fight for the top spot against Deportivo Cali in Tuesday's away match in Colombia.
Cali, however, flies to Santiago with two losses weighing it down: a 5-4 loss against Tigres in Monterrey and another defeat against Brazil's Corinthians. Pedro Sarmiento, coach of the Colombia club, said that his club has to win on Tuesday to stay in the Cup.
In Group Two, Colombia's Santa Fe could seal its place in the knockout stage if it beats Argentina's Estudiantes de la Plata.
Santa Fe has already achieved two victories and a draw, and leads the group ahead of Peru's Cristal with six points and Bolivia's Bolivar with four, Estudiantes trails the group with three.
