font size

Chinese President Hu Jintao on Tuesday congratulated Choummaly Sayasone on his election as the new secretary general of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP).

In his message, Hu praised the great social and economic progress Laos had made since the previous congress of the LPRP in 2001.

The Chinese president expressed a firm belief that the Lao people would make further achievements in their great cause of socialist construction and reform under the LPRP's leadership.

Hu said he was confident that the all-around cooperation between the two countries and between the Communist Party of China and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party would make consistent headway.
