With 54 new cholera cases reported only on Tuesday, the total cholera cases in the Angolan capital of Luanda has reached 452, claiming 14 lives, since the cholera outbreak on Feb. 13.
According to local media on Wednesday, Angolan Vice-Minister of Health Jose Van-Dunem announced the figures and contributed the outbreak mainly to foul water caused by heavy rains in these days as well as polluted drinking water.
The official appealed the locals to take prevention measures, such as frequently disinfecting and drinking boiled water, so as to curb spread of the disease.
