Fifth cured human case of bird flu discharged from hospital in E. China

A 26-year-old woman of East China's Anhui Province, who was diagnosed human case of bird flu one month ago, was discharged from hospital on Thursday after recovery.

The villager of Jitai Village of Yingshang County, surnamed Wang, developed fever and pneumonia symptoms on Feb. 11. Wang's samples tested H5N1 positive by both the national and provincial centers for disease control.

The Ministry of Health announced Wang as a human case of bird flu on Feb. 25.

Wang was admitted into the No. 2 People's Hospital of Fuyang City on Feb. 18. She is now fully recovered, local hospital source said.
