Saraya al-Quds, armed wing of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War), warned Israel on Sunday against any large-scale military operations in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.
"We warn the Zionist enemy of the consequences of plans to carry out large-scale military operations in both the Gaza Strip and West Bank," Saraya al-Quds said in a statement.
"The Zionist enemy asserts its continuing terror against the Palestinians and we, along with the Palestinian armed factions, assure it that we are able to attack it everywhere and anytime," said the statement.
The militant group also said it had announced a state of alert and called on all the Palestinian militant groups to be ready to confront the Israeli troops.
"The enemy's policies will never bring security to its entity," stressed the statement.
In addition, the group demanded the Israeli army to withdraw from all the Palestinian territories.
The Jihad warning came after the British newspaper Sunday Times on Sunday published a report which said that the Israeli army would launch a large-scale operation in the Gaza Strip and West Bank after the Israeli elections slated for Tuesday.
