Arab foreign ministers have agreed to continuously support the Palestinian Authority regardless of results of the recent elections which saw the radical Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) sweep to power, a Palestinian official said Sunday.
Outgoing Palestinian Foreign Minister Nasser al Qedwa told a press conference at the end of two-day meeting of the Arab Ministerial Council that the council had adopted three important decisions relating to the Palestinian problem.
"We are totally satisfied with these decisions to be submitted to the Arab summit," Qedwa said.
He said that the Arab foreign ministers promised to continuously provide financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority and extend political support for the Palestinian people's struggle to retrieve all their rights and reach a just settlement to the Palestinian- Israeli conflict.
The Arab summit is due to be held in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum on Tuesday and Wednesday.
