Commander of a Palestinian militant group escaped assassination in an Israeli airstrike wounding three Palestinians early Monday.
The witnesses said that an Israeli pilotless aircraft fired two missiles at a car that carried militants in the neighborhood of Sheikh Radwan in northern Gaza City.
Palestinian security sources said that Mohamed Hijazi, commander of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed wing of Fatah movement, survived the raid while his deputy Tha'er al-Meshal was wounded.
Two police men were also injured in the attack, they added.
The Israeli airstrike came before the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) was scheduled to convene on Monday for a confidence vote on Hamas-led new cabinet and its program.
