Newly-appointed Norwegian peace envoy Jon Hanssen-Bauer will arrive in Sri Lanka on April 3 for a four-day visit, the Norwegian embassy to Sri Lanka said Wednesday in a press release.
This will be first visit to Sri Lanka by Hanssen-Bauer, who was appointed to the position in March.
Hanssen-Bauer will have meetings with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse, representatives of the government and other political leaders, said the release.
He is also scheduled to meet leaders of the rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) during his visit.
Meanwhile, Norwegian International Development Minister and former peace envoy Erik Solheim will make a brief visit to Sri Lanka on April 6 for meetings in Colombo.
Solheim has been broking Sri Lanka's peace process since 2000, resulting in a cease-fire agreement between the government and the LTTE in 2002.
The two sides is scheduled to hold another round of talks in Switzerland from April 19 to 21.
