A senior Palestinian security official vowed on Saturday to bring to justice those involved in the killings of three Palestinians in Friday's violent clashes between militants and security forces.

Preventive Security Chief Brigadier Rashid Abu Shbak told a news conference in Gaza following a meeting with Interior Minister Sa'ed Siam that there would be "no immunity for any Palestinian who sheds the blood of the Palestinians."

Shbak made the tough pledge following riots in Gaza on Friday, in which 23 other Palestinians were also wounded.

The violence erupted during a funeral procession of a top militant of the Popular Resistance Committees, who was killed in a mysterious car explosion in Gaza City on Friday.

Supporters of Abu Yousef al-Guga blamed Israel for his death and also accused Palestinian security forces of collaborating with the Jewish State in the killing, triggering clashes with the security forces.

The newly-inaugurated Palestinian government, led by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), decided at a late Friday meeting to set up a special committee to investigate into the incident, while ordering to remove all the weapons from public display on the streets.

Abu Shbak said that the fact-finding committee would fulfill its task.

But he condemned the Popular Resistance Committees' accusations that senior Palestinian security officials were involved.

When asked about the future ties between the security forces and the Hamas-led cabinet, Abu Shbak said that relations could be reinforced to serve the Palestinian people's interests.

Defeating the long dominant Fatah movement in the January legislative elections, Hamas has single-handedly formed a new government. But the security forces have largely consisted of Fatah members.
