Two Palestinian farmers were moderately injured Sunday evening when an Israeli tank shell hit their vegetable-laden car in the town of Beit Lahya in northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian witnesses and medics said.
Israeli tanks stationed on the borders between northern Gaza Strip and Israel fired artillery shells, one of which shattered the car laden with vegetable, the witnesses.
Medics at northern Gaza Hospital said that two citizens sustained moderate wounds.
Palestinian security forces cordoned off the scene.
No information from the Israeli side was available.
The Israeli army decided on Thursday to carry out an operation in response to Palestinian rocket attacks on Israeli targets.
