German and Polish anti-terrorist security forces drill for World CupPolish and German anti-terrorist police forces participate in a drill aimed at preparing for this summer's World Cup finals in Germany, the Polish Press Agency reported on Monday. The drill takes place on a military training field in city of Wedrzyn (in Lubuskie province) and it will end on 7 April. The spokesman of the Province Police Headquarters in the city of Szczecin, police superintendent Maciej Karczynski, told the Polish Press Agency that the main points of the joint drill are rescuing hostages held in captivity in public spaces, storming buildings and cross border pursuits. Besides practical physical training, the drill is aimed at exchanging experience and knowledge between Polish and German forces, that can be useful for preparing all necessary security measures against potential dangerous situations that are likely to occur during the World Cup 2006.
