Four minister nominees have been questioned by the members of Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga or National Assembly by Wednesday and more will have to go through the process in the next days.
The country's first Vice President Ahmad Zia Masoud introduced to the house all the nominees for 25 ministries in the new cabinet on Monday.
However, the 249-seat house has yet to approve any nominees as the process of questioning of the would-be ministers is still continuing.
The legislators, in an attempt to scrutinize the nominees before going to vote of confidence, began questioning them about their past performances and future agendas on Tuesday.
Majority of the candidates for ministries in the new cabinet are sitting or acting ministers in the incumbent provisional cabinet.
So far, the president Hamid Karzai's choices for Minister for Defense, Minister for Justice, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock and Minister for Public Work have presented their future agendas while defending their past's performances as ministers.
The process will be likely to continue for about 12 days and vote of confidence to each nominee will be given secretly within the next two weeks.
