German luxury car-maker BMW plans to add investment in Indonesia by 160.5 billion rupiah (about 17.8 million U.S. dollars) to expand the market share, a local newspaper reported Thursday.
Most of the new investment will be used to build new dealerships on the main island of Java, reported Bisnis Indonesia, quoting the spokesperson of the local unit PT BMW Indonesia.
BMW will spend 156 billion rupiah (17.3 million dollars) to build 15 dealerships on Java.
"We have to admit that the domestic market is sluggish. But this doesn't prevent us from putting new investment as we are confident that the market will improve in the second half," said BMW spokeswoman Helena Abidin.
