Forty militants have been killed and 19 others arrested in clashes in the last two days in Pakistan 's restive North Waziristan, local authorities said Thursday.
The clashes started when the militants attacked the Datta Khel Fort with missiles at about 11 pm on April 4, injuring two security men, said a spokesman of the Governor's Secretariat.
Then at about 3 am on April 5, the militants attacked the Shahdghali Post near Shawaal. Security forces retaliated and exchanged fire with the militants till 5 am, during which three soldiers were killed, the spokesman said.
