The consumer confidence index for first quarter stood at 94 points, the same as December of last year, according to a report from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Friday.
The index of consumer expectations of economic prospects were 95.8, 95.9 and 96.7 points for the first three months, compared to 95.9 in last December.
NBS figures showed that in March, 64 percent of consumers believed their future incomes would be higher or equal to present income while more than 60 percent were "optimistic" on the economy.
The index of consumer satisfaction with the economy declined from 92.1 points in last December to 90.4 in March this year, which the NBS attributed to the "not so satisfactory commodity quality and consumption environment".
