Taufik receives 320 square meters of land from badminton associationIndonesia's world and Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat has received a piece of land measuring some 320 square meters from Sutiyoso, Chairman of the Badminton Association of Indonesia and Jakarta Governor, the Jakarta Post said on Friday. The land, located in Joglo, west Jakarta, was a token of appreciation from the association for the 25-year-old's international achievements, said the paper. Taufik suffered waist injury during his practice on March 15. The injury forced him to miss the just-concluded Asian Badminton Championships in Johor Baru, Malaysia. Taufik himself is currently not sure of attending the upcoming Thomas Cup matches in Japan for he needs time to recuperate. Apart from the world championship title, Taufik won the 2004 Athens Olympics gold and has helped the country's Thomas Cup team win the coveted men's team trophy twice, in 2000 and 2002.
