Jordanian PM urges international efforts to help resume Middle East peace talks
font size

Jordanian Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit on Saturday urged the international community to work double hard to help revive the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks within the framework of the Middle East roadmap peace plan.

Jordan will continue to support the Palestinians and help them achieve their ultimate goal of establishing an independent state, Bakhit said while meeting with visiting Belgian Defense Minister Andre Flahaut.

On Iraq, Bakhit said that his country supports the ongoing political process in Iraq and hoped that all Iraqi parties can reach consensus on the formation of a new government as soon as possible.

Bakhit also expressed his appreciation for Belgium's economic aid to his county, and hoped that Jordan can expand cooperation with Belgium in all fields, especially in the domain of national defense.
