China's achievements in protecting IPR "obvious": vice-premier
font size

The Chinese government has been attaching great importance to the protection of intellectual property rights and has made obvious achievements in this regard, Vice-Premier Wu Yi said on Monday.

Wu, who is also head of a national working group on IPR protection, made the remarks after visiting an exhibition showcasing China's achievements in protecting trademarks, patents, copyrights and other intellectual properties.

The vice-premier visited the exhibitions at the military museum in downtown Beijing, the first of its kind ever held in China.

After being briefed by officials from the Ministry of Public Security, the State Intellectual Property Office and other relevant authorities, Wu said China's efforts in IPR protection over the recent years have produced significant results.

The vice-premier warned that the protection of IPR is not something that can be done in one stroke and will demand a strenuous long-term effort.

The protection of IPR must be taken as part of the national drive in building an innovative country, she said.

The exhibition was organized by the national working group on the protection of IPR. It was opened on Sunday and will last for eight days.
