CPC congratulates CPV on opening of 10th National Congress

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Tuesday send a congratulatory message to the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) on the opening of its 10th National Congress.

On behalf of the CPC and the Chinese people, the CPC Central Committee extends congratulations to the 10th National Congress of the CPV and extends sincere greetings to all the CPV members and Vietnamese people, the message said.

The message also hails the CPV as the strong-willed organizer and leader of the socialist revolution and construction in Vietnam.

Under the leadership of the CPV over the past 76 years, the country has achieved national liberation and unification and made steady progress in exploring the way of development catering to the situation of Vietnam, the message said.

Vietnam is enjoying long-term political stability, sustained and rapid economic growth and remarkably enhanced international status while the living conditions of the Vietnamese people are being improved steadily, the massage added.

"As comrades and friends, we feel happy from the bottom of our hearts about the outstanding success you have achieved," the CPC said in its message.

It said the the 10th CPV National Congress was an important event in the political life of the CPV and the entire Vietnamese people. It will be of far-reaching significance to Vietnam's socialist construction in the future.

Under the leadership of the CPV, the Vietnamese people are sure to be successful in building their country into a rich and strong socialist state, which is characterized by social equality, democracy and a high-level of civilization and modernization, the message said.

On bilateral relations, the message said the CPC and the CPV have conducted frequent exchanges at high levels in recent years. The two countries have also seen expansion of their economic and trade ties and enjoyed closer consultations and cooperation on international and regional affairs.

"We are pleased and satisfied with the new achievements in friendly cooperation between the two parties and the two countries," the message said.

The CPC and the Chinese government think highly of the consolidation and development of the Sino-Vietnamese friendship, the message said.

"We are willing to follow the principle of long-term stability, orientation to the future, friendship and good-neighborliness and all-round cooperation, and ready to work together with Vietnam to achieve the goals of being good neighbors, good friends, good comrades and good partners," the message said.

The CPV's 10th National Congress opened in Hanoi Tuesday with the participation of 1,176 party members.

During an eight-day session, the participants are scheduled to elect the CPV Central Committee and its Political Bureau, define orientations for the country's socio-economic development in the 2006-2010 period and adopt the party's amended statute.
