The dialogue between the Nepali King Gyanendra and political parties continued on Wednesday, state- run Radio Nepal reported Thursday.

"The king granted audience to Parshu Narayan Chaudhary, chairman of the Royal Council Standing Committee and Kamal Thapa, president of Rastriya Prajatantra Party who is also the home minister of the country, at the Royal Palace," the radio said.

The seven opposition parties continued their general strike across the country.

Earlier, the king gave an audience to Lokendra Bahadur Chand, former prime minister and leader of Rastriya Prajatantra Party ( RPP), former Prime Minister Marich Man Singh Shrestha and RPP chairman Pashupati SJB Rana on Tuesday.

On Monday, the king held separate meetings with former Prime ministers Krishna Prashad Bhattrai and Surya Bahadur Thapa.

All of them were hopeful that a positive outcome would come out soon.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Sun Heping, Indian Ambassador Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, and US Ambassador James F Moriarty also met with the king on Sunday.
