Greater cooperation between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia likely: PM

Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday said that tremendous potential existed for greater cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in trade, investment, culture and tourism, the state-run APP news agency reported.

At the meeting with visiting Saudi Prince Waleed Bin Talal, Aziz said the Pakistan-Saudi economic cooperation was likely to get a further boost in the days to come with increased investment and trade.

Aziz expressed appreciation of Saudi's assistance in Pakistan's economic development, and said that the two countries have an abiding interest in each other's progress and prosperity.

The Saudi prince said that a number of Saudi investors were keen to start joint ventures with Pakistani companies, and business conferences in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad would be arranged.

During the meeting, the Saudi prince, who is among the richest men of the world, also discussed with Aziz his plans of investing in two hotels in Pakistan's Lahore and Islamabad.
