At least 30 people were killed and more than 150 others injured after three time bombs went off in Red Sea resort of Dahab in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, Egyptian hospital and security sources said.

The explosions occurred at about 7:15 p.m. local time (1715 GMT) in a hotel, a police station and a marketplace respectively, according to the Israeli ambassador in Cairo.

Egyptian security sources told Xinhua that the three explosions were caused by time tombs.

Monday marked the beginning of the five-day Spring holiday in Egypt.

Dahab is located on the Gulf of Aqaba on the eastern side of the Sinai Peninsula.

On July 23, 2005, 60 people were killed and more than 200 wounded in three bomb attacks on the most popular Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh in Sinai.
