Some 30 Indian firms will meet in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's capital, to seek business opportunities in six east African countries, the Indian embassy here said Monday.
In a press release, the Indian embassy said the three-day meeting to start on Thursday aims to bring together business delegations from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda to seek trade opportunities with India.
The meeting, under the auspices of the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Export-Import Bank of India, "seeks to engage India's private sector and banks with partner enterprises and financial institutions in the six east African countries to create a new matrix of partnership, " the press release said.
Indian firms, like Tata Steel Industry, Rites Kirloscores and Wapcos, plan to take part in the event.
The Indian firms work in fields including infrastructure, engineering, agro-processing, tractors and agricultural implements, pharmaceuticals, water management, steel and sugar.
