Brazilian defender Cafu extends contract with AC Milan

Serie A side AC Milan announced Tuesday that Brazilian defender Cafu has extended his contract with the club by one year until 2007.

According to Cafu's current deal, the Brazil captain was scheduled to leave AC Milan at the end of this season and there had been reports that he was considering a return to Brazil.

The 35-year-old right-back joined Milan in 2003 after spending six seasons with AS Roma and won the Italian title in his first season with AC Milan.
