Great Wall of China gets measured
![]() Zhang Pengming, head of the Great Wall scientific research team of Hebei province measures the width of a stone block with a laser rangefinder at Great Wall's Shanhaiguan Pass section on April 24. A pilot survey and measuring mission for the Great Wall was kicked off in north China's Hebei province recently, which will get a thorough situation of Great Wall resources within a couple of years. It is the first time that China uses survey and mapping techniques to measure the Great Wall precisely.
