Bodies of 14 people found in Baghdad
font size

Iraqi police patrols found 14 bodies riddled with bullets in northeastern Baghdad on Wednesday, a police source said.

"The bodies were of young men, who were apparently kidnapped and tortured before being shot in the heads and chests," Captain Ahmed Abdullah, from Baghdad police, told Xinhua.

On Tuesday night, the Iraqi police found bodies of four bound people with signs of torture and bullet holes in the heads in Baghdad's northern neighborhood of Shula, a police source said.

A wave of sectarian reprisal attacks between Iraq's Shiite and Sunni communities has swept across the country in the wake of a bomb attack that destroyed a major Shiite shrine in northern Iraq on Feb. 22.
