font size

Zacarias Moussaoui was formally sentenced to life imprisonment Thursday for his role in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington that killed more than 3,000 people.

The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema a day after the jury rejected the government's case to have Moussaoui executed.
