Bush discusses Iran's nuclear issue with Malaysian PM

U.S. President George W. Bush discussed Iran's nuclear issue with Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Thursday and both agreed to find a diplomatic solution to the thorny issue, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said at a briefing.

"The two leaders discussed Iran and agreed on the importance of finding a diplomatic solution to the nuclear issue. They agreed on the need for the regime in Iran to come into full compliance with its international obligations," McClellan said.

Bush, who spoke with Badawi by telephone, also wished him well on his visit to Austin, Texas, where he is participating in the World Conference on Information Technology, McClellan said.

Malaysia currently holds the chair of the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference.
