Bolivia willing to hold energy dialogue with Chile

Bolivia's government is willing to talk with Chile about the possibility of supplying natural gas without including the demand on an outlet to the sea, Bolivian Planning Minister Carlos Villegas said on Friday.

"We are willing to hold a dialogue with Chile on energy before finding a solution to our ancient maritime demand," Villegas said.

He said that both countries could start negotiation which would focus not only on natural gas exports, but on the sale of an added value resource, such as electric energy.

Bolivia has agreed to participate in the huge gas supply project promoted by Venezuela and supported by Argentina and Brazil.

Bolivia and Venezuela own almost 200 trillion cubic feet of gas, the largest in this region.
