Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri on Saturday said that the U.S.-India agreement on nuclear cooperation will have serious implications for security environment of South Asia.
"A packaged approach in this regard would have better served," Kasuri told a joint news conference after talks with visiting Swiss counterpart Mrs Micheline Calmyrey.
Pakistan wants a negotiated solution of the Iranian nuclear issue, and urges Switzerland, an important member of Nuclear Supplier Group, to play a constructive role on the issue's resolving, Kasuri said.
During the talks between Kasuri and his Swiss counterpart, both sides agreed on the need for enhancing bilateral economic relations and emphasized the desirability of institutionalisation of economic relations, he said.
They discussed the complaint of mal-treatment and harassment of visa applicants as well as alleged involvement of some employees of Swiss Embassy Islamabad in human trafficking, according to the Pakistani foreign minister.
Sustained efforts are underway to eliminate the human trafficking and Pakistan will take every possible measure to ensure facilitation for visas for genuine travelers, he said.
