Chinese FM to attend New York meeting on Iranian nuclear issue

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing will attend a foreign ministers' meeting on May 8 in New York to exchange views on the Iranian nuclear issue with his counterparts from Britain, France, Germany, the United States and Russia.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao made the announcement Sunday.

Li is invited by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
