Roundup: Car bomb attacks kill over 30 across IraqAt least 32 were killed and another 86 wounded in a new wave of violence across Iraq on Sunday. In the bloodiest attack, a powerful car bomb went off near a bus station in Iraq's southern Shiite holy city of Karbala, killing at least 21 and wounding 52 others. "A suicide bomber drove his explosive-laden vehicle into a crowd of civilian vehicles near the station parking lot where buses line up to pick up passengers," a police source said on condition of anonymity. The source said the bus station was close to several government buildings and the road where the blast took place is usually used by the Multi-National troops in the province, some 110 km south of Baghdad. Elsewhere, two suicide car bombs rocked Baghdad's northern district of Azamiyah on Sunday morning, killing a total of 11 people and wounding 34 others. A suicide bomber blew up his explosives-laden vehicle near a position of the Iraqi army close to the al-Dilal al-Arabiyah Square in Azamiyah neighborhood, killing 10 people and wounding 28 others, police said. Another suicide bomber drove his explosives-packed vehicle near the building of the state-run al-Sabah newspaper in Azamiyah and blew it up, killing one person and wounding six others, according to police. A group of Iraqi soldiers were near the paper's building when the attack occurred, said police. In another development, Iraqi police patrols found eight bodies killed in execution-style in a rubbish container in eastern Baghdad on Sunday morning. "A police patrol found eight bodies, which were blindfolded, bound and shot in the head," a police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. During the past 24 hours, the police have found a further 43 bodies killed in apparent sectarian attacks, the source said. Up to 28 bodies were found in Baghdad's western Karkh area, while another 15 were found in the eastern Rusafa area, he said. A wave of sectarian reprisal attacks between the Iraqi Shiite and Sunni communities swept the country in the wake of a bombing attack that destroyed a major Shiite shrine in northern Iraq on Feb. 22.
