The first China-Sri Lanka CEO's summit opened in Colombo Monday with the participation of more than 20 Chief Executive Officers based in China and their Sri Lankan counterparts.
In his message to the summit, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa said the summit "would not only forgather the peers of business and industry for objective discourse but also serve to advance and strengthen economic links between the two countries."
During the two-day meeting, delegates of the two countries are expected to discuss possible cooperation in such sectors as information technology, banking and finance, transport and communications, tourism, agriculture, gems and jewelry, among others.
On a request by Sri Lankan Southern Province Governor Kingsley T.Wickramaratne, the event is being promoted and organized by Asia Capital Forum based in China.
