A two-member Swiss team, investigating complaints of sexual harassment of two Pakistani women by the embassy staff as well as their involvement in human trafficking, held talks with Pakistani officials on Tuesday, according to local news agency reports.
Switzerland closed its visa section in its Islamabad embassy on May 6 after allegations that several officials in the visa section were involved in human trafficking and sexual harassment of the visa seekers.
Ashar Francis, a Pakistani officer in the Swiss embassy's visa section, was arrested last month after a woman complained that she was sexually harassed and that Mr Francis also tempered her passport as well as canceled visas of other countries on her passport.
Ashar and four travel agents on the charges of human traffickers are being questioned after their arrest, said Tariq Khusa, Additional Secretary of Pakistani Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), quoted by NNI news agency.
The Swiss team met Pakistani FIA officials and discussed the on- going probe about the human trafficking.
Many people have been sent to Switzerland and other European countries on fake documents with the help of staff members of the Swiss embassy, according to Pakistani officials.
