Israeli security service Shin Bet has lifted a ban on reporting a recent arrest of two Hamas members, who infiltrated into Israel with the intention of carrying out attacks and kidnapping soldiers, the Ha'aretz daily reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the two Palestinians from the Jabalya refugee camp infiltrated into the southern Negev region through Sinai.
They were carrying firearms and grenades as well as money intended for funding the construction of a West Bank military cell.
Since Israeli forces withdrew from the Gaza Strip last September, several attempts by Hamas and the Popular Resistance Committees to smuggle activists into Israel from Sinai have been thwarted.
